ISLA AND Doritos builds a world on Mars for all the misfits in otherworldly spot.

Isla and Doritos’ spot imagines fans building their own neighborhood on Mars.

Doritos isn’t always friendly to aliens, but its new campaign in Latin America makes a big bet on Mars—with a spot that imagines Doritos fans building their own neighborhood on the Red Planet.

The three-minute-plus spot from agency Isla—directed by Alaska, who also handled the brand’s “Dina & Mita” Super Bowl campaign—shows a man traveling to Mars and explaining why it would be a great spot for young people who are misunderstood on Earth. We get a tour of the surreal neighborhood, from skaters floating through anti-gravity suburbs to molten cheese fountains as the sole energy source.

The campaign imagines an inclusive, free and wild home for those who don’t always feel welcome on Earth.

“Doritos has always spoken to those who break the mold on this planet,” said Nicolás Diaco and Ezequiel De Luca, creative directors at Isla. “This time, we wanted to offer them a new place. We believe this idea not only captures the brand’s unique tone but pushes it to the extreme. We like to think of Mars as a symbol of what’s to come—a platform to keep challenging the status quo.”

The spot is running in digital. A second phase of the campaign will embrace the Mars theme in another fun way.
